Purpose of Role

To deliver engaging and age-appropriate ICT lessons to primary students developing their digital literacy computational thinking and responsible use of technology in line with curriculum standards.

CSA - Primary ICT Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning

• Plan and deliver ICT lessons for Primary grades aligned with curriculum guidelines
• Teach basic computer skills digital tools and age-appropriate coding concepts
• Introduce students to applications such as word processing presentations spreadsheets and educational software
• Promote safe ethical and responsible use of technology

Curriculum & Assessment

• Prepare lesson plans worksheets and digital resources
• Assess and record student progress using appropriate assessment methods
• Support integration of ICT into other subjects (cross-curricular learning)

Classroom & Lab Management

• Maintain discipline and ensure student safety in the computer lab
• Ensure proper use and care of ICT equipment
• Report technical issues and coordinate with IT support when required

Student Engagement & Development

• Encourage creativity collaboration and problem-solving through technology
• Support students with varying learning abilities
• Motivate students to participate in ICT-based activities and projects

Professional Responsibilities

• Participate in staff meetings training sessions and school events
• Stay updated with emerging educational technologies and teaching practices
• Follow school policies child safeguarding and data protection guidelines
