What this job involves
This is an experienced position in the firms research department. Day-to-day activities include gathering information writing and reporting on major trends in the commercial real estate market in Beijing. The role will include a considerable contribution to the quality and accuracy of research produced by the firm production of thought leadership publications tailored consulting projects and development of a constantly-evolving house view on property markets.
Key Responsibilities
Collect validate and analyze primary and secondary data on office buildings retail centers and broader commercial property markets in Beijing.
Lead and deliver market due diligence reports for investor clients supporting investment decisions and portfolio strategies.
Develop and articulate informed views on current market conditions and future trends grounded in macroeconomic and local demand drivers.
Take ownership of quality control for all externally published market reports and data outputs targeting institutional investors and subscription clients.
Contribute to JLLs thought leadership through regular publications forecasts and sector deep dives focused on Beijing.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with key developers investors and industry stakeholders.
Deliver client briefings and market presentations in both English and Chinese.
Conduct fieldwork across Beijing including site visits broker interviews and cold calls to verify market intelligence.
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelors or Masters degree in economics finance real estate urban planning or a related analytical field.
24 years of professional experience in real estate research consultancy valuation asset management or a comparable professional services role.
Native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (reading writing speaking).
Fluency in Englishboth written and spokenwith ability to produce polished reports and present confidently to international clients.
Demonstrated progression in roles involving direct client interaction and increasing responsibility.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; comfortable working with large datasets and market models.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex insights into clear compelling narratives.
Self-motivated detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
International education or work experience is a strong advantage.
A proactive attitude curiosity about markets and enthusiasm for on-the-ground research. Strong field interview skills and cold call skills are a major plus.
