Greater China Controllership Manager ensures that the assigned entities in China Hong Kong and Taiwan operates strong internal controls and high standards of financial reporting and accounting compliance. The person is the primary owner of local statutory financial reporting for the assigned entities in Greater China region.
He/She will drive the continued implementation of our Honeywell-wide controllership strategy for assigned entities in Greater China into the next phase by driving end-to-end organization & process integration and partner with various internal local/remote groups the business and our external service provider to optimize process and improve efficiency.
This role reports into Greater China Controllership Leader and is an important partner to the regional business tax and treasury teams. Other key partners include Global/Regional Finance COEs External/Internal Auditors Corporate Finance and Functional Management and SBG Finance.
Accounting (US/Local GAAP) and Controls
- Lead the assigned entities in Greater China to ensure compliance with both the US and local accounting standards Statutory requirements and Honeywell policy.
- Co-ordinate the period-end closing activities. Ensure the accounts are recorded and reported on-time with quality and in full compliance with relevant GAAP standards.
- Own the Statutory Accounting Policy and Process. Ensure timely and accurate filing of Statutory Financial Statements. Review approve and submit various regulatory reports/files.
- Manage relationship with external statutory auditor. Plan co-ordinate and support all statutory audits of assigned legal entities in Greater China and ensure on time on budget audit execution and sign off.
- Drive the resolution of complex material accounting issues with alignment with SBG and Commercial Finance teams.
- Drive and ensure strong internal controls and oversee improvements in the control key controls and ensure timely remediation of control risks.
Functional Transformation
- Per assignment drive Controllership transformation projects and ensure alignment/consistency with the target Finance Operating Model and key stakeholders.
- Per assignment lead/co-ordinate integration/transition of business entities into Global/Regional Finance Center back office.
Business Tax & Treasury Partnering
- Partner/Advise business on complex accounting issues. Support Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence and integration planning. Support divestiture due diligence and planning.
- Partner with Tax on tax planning and restructuring projects. Monitor and advise on robust tax reporting / submissions to authorities.
- Partner with Treasury to safeguard and optimize free cash investment of free cash and to co-ordinate restructuring acquisition funding etc.
- Partner with business leaders and provide value-adding financial services and advice. Be the Go-To person for the assigned entities units and organizations.
QualificationsExperience/Skills/Education
- BA and Financial Accounting Qualification
- At least 8 years of extensive finance experience in a large multi-national corporation with highly matrix working relationships and Global/Regional finance COE back office
- Extensive US GAAP and China/Hong Kong/Taiwan GAAP knowledge
- Indirect (VAT Withholding Tax) Direct (Corporate Tax) knowledge
- People management experiences preferably experience with managing remote teams
