Duties

  • Assist clinicians with physical examinations treatments diagnostic procedures and coordination of health care needs of patients.
  • Oversee day-to-day team activities and care coordination of patients needs across the life span and continuum of care.
  • Initiate and maintains medical history on patients records observations and stated symptoms for use by the clinician.
  • Observe and records pertinent vital signs and orders laboratory procedures on patients that may be required for clinician.
  • Ensure administrative requirements related to patients visit are completed timely and correctly.
  • Managing patient flow during high-volume periods.
  • Resolve conflicts between patients and staff and collaborating with external providers or emergency services.
  • Utilize automated programs and information technology as effective communication and management tools to facilitate the patients experience and coordination of care.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or must be able to pass certification within 6 months of employment.
  • This position requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or must be able to pass certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Required to wear Personnel Protective Equipment.
  • Wear a respirator in the regular performance of duties.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Male applicants born after December 31 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • One year probationary period may be required.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
  • Must be able to satisfy the requirements of the 26JUL12 DODI 1400.25 V1230 DoD Civilian Personnel Management System: Employment in Foreign Areas and Employee Return Rights. Visit to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis influenza etc.) unless exempted by a licensed physician.
  • This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as on-call working either fixed or rotating shifts evenings weekends and/or holidays.
  • This position has been designated Mission the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with no limitations stipulations or pending adverse actions in a state or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • This position is designated as having regular and recurring contact with children under the age of 18 and is subject to requirements of DoDI 1402.05 and AR 600-78.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Position function requires Drug Test.
  • Required to lift over 25 the regular performance of duties.
  • Pre-employment physical required and annually thereafter.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training certification from or in accordance with the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede Basic Life Support completion.

In order to qualify you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Nurse (Clinical):Degree: A graduate or higher-level degree bachelors degree associate degree or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.).

Licensure: A current active full and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State the District of Columbia the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States; and you must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.

Foreign Degree: A degree from a Foreign Nursing School. Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.

Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0610 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27 2017 or before. Applicants claiming this exemption must meet the requirement below. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.

Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Active current registration as a professional nurse in a State District of Columbia the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Education/Experience:
A diploma associate degree or bachelors degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program and possession of at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or above) which includes: providing comprehensive nursing care to patients; assisting physicians with examinations or procedures; and counseling or educating patients.

OR

Education: A masters degree in professional nursing.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.   • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area.
  • If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13 the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child if eligible for special education receives a free appropriate public education including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
  • If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location and that infant or toddler but for the childs age is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13 then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
  • Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Pay retention MAY be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
  • Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters home leave etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.
  • For positions in a foreign country that countrys laws or international agreements may have a direct impact on the ability of an employees same sex domestic partner or spouse to accompany the employee and receive certain benefits.
