Duties

  • Responsible for providing operational support to activities who provides support to customers in various scheduled events and functions.
  • Responsible for conference room configuration in accordance with established banquet/special event orders and breakdown and proper storage of this equipment in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Loads and unloads equipment and furniture moves materials using hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges for storage. Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment.
  • Washes and replaces conference room fixtures using ladders. Uses chemicals and cleaning solutions. Maintains stock of cleaning materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Work hours may involve weekdays weekends holidays and night duty.
  • A medical examination is required. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds. Required to stand walk bend and kneel for lengthy periods of time.
  • This position is dual compensation exempt; All GS and NAF employees whether full time or part time are eligible to apply for this position.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

1. Three (3) months of laboring experience required.

This experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.

2. Must have the ability use control and clean tools and power equipment used and ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps without constant supervision of each task assigned.

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE: Manual skill to lift and move moderately heavy objects. Skill and knowledge to safely operate simple power equipment and hand tools (steam cleaners and vacuums). A basic knowledge is required of routine maintenance procedures for equipment. Skill in oral communication in order to understand user needs and to provide assistance. Ability to read and write in order to prepare required forms and follow written guidelines/instruction.

Note: Candidates with Special Qualifying Skills and Experience may be brought in higher than the Step 1 rate of pay determined by the Hiring Manager.

Initial Cut-Off Date:

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Governments interest.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time regular part-time and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances cost of living (COLA) and differentials will not be paid contingent upon eligibility.
