Adjunct Heating Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology (HART) Professor:
Role:
Provides classroom and lab instruction in the Heating Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology (HART) program.
The salary rate for this position is $700.00 per credit hour.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- 75% Teaches no more than 9 credit hours per semester. Meets all classes as assigned and is responsible for student learning safety and demonstrative teaching during labs.
- 10% Works as a team member in the Workforce Education Department; complies with the faculty responsibilities as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and the Colleges Policy and Procedure Manual.
- 10% Contributes to the campus assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements.
- 5% Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean and Department Chair.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of two years of work experience in refrigeration and/or electricity. Demonstrated experience teaching in a community college environment is preferred.
- Education: Associate degree in HVAC.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process and proven commitment to student attitude with college community as well as outside entities.
- Other Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience tracking student learning outcomes analyzing resultant data and implementing improvement plans. Excellent computer skills. Ability to read analyze interpret and write as applicable to subject area.
- Physical Requirements: The work requires minor physical exertion such as short periods of standing some recurring reaching or similar activities. Job requires minimal agility and dexterity.
- Work Environment: Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
