The United States Attorneys Office for the Southern District of Florida (SDFL) is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in our Border and Immigration Crimes Enforcement (BICE) Section in the Offices Criminal Division. Our District has offices located in Miami Fort Lauderdale West Palm Beach and Fort Pierce.

The BICE Section was created to strengthen South Floridas border security posture protect maritime and land points of entry enforce federal immigration law and dismantle transnational smuggling networks operating through the region. The Section brings together narcotics immigration fraud and violent-crime expertise into a single coordinated unit focused on border-driven threats. AUSAs in the BICE section will prosecute these matters from the charging stage through trial.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Residency Requirements: Assistant United States Attorneys generally must reside in the district to which he or she is appointed or within 25 miles thereof. See 28 U.S.C. 545 for district-specific information.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction) and have at least 1* year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience.
United States citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants should possess superior oral and written communication skills strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to function in a highly demanding environment with minimal guidance. The successful candidate should have strong academic credentials and at least 3 years of post J.D. experience.

Salary Information: Assistant United States Attorneys pay is administratively determined based in part on the number of years of professional attorney experience. The range of basic pay is $120086.00 to $195100.00 which includes 24.67% locality pay.
