The Battle Creek VA Medical Center is seeking Psychiatrists to serve as Fee Basis providers on an intermittent schedule.
What is Fee Basis:
Fee Basis appointment are temporary appointments for professional and technical occupations under Title 38 of the United States Code Section 7405(a)(2). These appointments are suitable only for work compensated per task or procedure not based on time. Individuals under this authority are subject to standard pre-employee hiring processes.
Fee Basis Physician (Psychiatrist). The provider will render IN PERSON coverage on night weekend and/or holidays for Inpatient Mental Health Units Urgent Care and provide Consultation/Liaison coverage as needed. Compensation will be a flat fee on a per (service) basis; visits (services) are limited to one per day are are determined as follows
Mon - 6 pm to Tues 7 am-$1625
Tues - 6 pm to Wed 7 am-$1625
Wed 6 pm to Thurs 7am-$1625
Thurs 6 pm to Fri 7 am-$1625
Fri 6 pm to Sat 7 am--$1625
Sat 7 am - Sat 7 pm-$1625
Sat 7pm- Sun 7am-$1500
Sun 7 am - Sun 7 pm-$1500
Sun 7pm-Mon 7am-$1500
Federal Holidays 7 am-7pm-$1500
Federal Holidays 7pm- Next day 7am-$1500
To qualify for this position you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.
