Job Description:
Reports to Operations Supervisor or Surgical Technician as required. Performs services related to the setup reprocessing and care of patient use equipment & surgical instruments. Performs inventory control functions related to supply areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
An accredited High School Diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in Sterile Processing Nursing or Surgery with strong commitment to implementing Infection Control disinfection and sterilization principles preferred. Basic computer competency required.
Willingness to learn and understand surgical instruments sterilization techniques and decontamination and sterile processing equipment.
Understands and can identify the cleaning products methods and procedures used in SPD for each item based on manufacturers IFUs preferred.
Physical requirements:
o visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable.
o ability to hear (with or without aides)
o ability to orally communicate
o good manual dexterity
o ability to push pull roll and lift up to 50 pounds.
o ability to stand walk frequently
o ability to bend reach stoop kneel frequently
