Job Summary

Summary

This position is located at the Seward Military Resort in Seward Alaska.

This is a seasonal position and the approximate dates of employment are 15 May - 15 September 2026.

Duties

  • Makes reservations for incoming guests based on room availability.
  • Assists clientele in the completion of required forms and registration cards.
  • Answers questions pertaining to rules and regulations governing the assignment and use of quarters; issues room keys.
  • Orients guests concerning use of facilities and equipment and other facilities available.
  • Computes charges for guests checking out receives payments and room keys; renders receipts. At end of shift accounts for and secures cash.

Conditions of employment

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 Chapter 2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Employee may be required to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Some positions require applicants to be at least 18 to be eligible for employment.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicants relevant experience skills knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
1. Ability to add subtract multiply and divide at the level necessary to complete required reports.
2. Use a computer for work processing or data entry.
3. Good verbal communication and customer service skills.

In addition to the above qualifications candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered Highly Preferred or Best Qualified:
1. One-year hotel front desk experience is preferred.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances cost of living (COLA) and differentials will not be paid contingent upon eligibility.
