Arthur Academys Social and Emotional Learning Specialist is a licensed educator who can provide support for the social and emotional needs of the school community.

Job Description

Daily classroom push-in during SEL lessons in order to co-teach/help teach SEL lessons
Work with the teacher and admin to facilitate behavior plans for certain students
Facilitate SEL groups such as friendship groups
Internal substitute on some days
Remain current on best practices in social and emotional learning and learning differences
Consult with principals and staff concerning social emotional learning needs of students
Provide guidance on designing social emotional learning integration into the school
Provide professional development to support the social emotional learning curriculum and instruction by using best practices including research on learning theory and content standards
Support the integration of school-wide social and emotional learning education throughout school
Provide technical support and modeling of social and emotional learning lessons to whole classes and small groups in accordance with curriculum
Attend meetings training workshops and educational conferences to maintain and improve professional competence
Act as student support for students needing behavioral and emotional assistance
Tailor and/or creates lesson plans to fit classroom specific needs

Job Summary

The Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialist will play an essential role in implementing SEL strategies to ensure a positive school climate that supports students social and emotional needs. As a specialist you will provide direct support to school leaders teachers staff and students on social-emotional learning including standards curriculum assessment and professional development. You will work to ensure that SEL is integrated into instruction and daily practices aligned with Arthur Academys framework.
