About the Role
The communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and delivering effective internal and external communications across YAC. You will play a key role in strengthening engagement with Yinhawangka members staff partners and the broader community through storytelling digital platforms media and culturally respectful communication.
Reporting to the Manager Place Based Development this role sits at the heart of YACs corporate and community engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement YACs Communications and Engagement Strategy
Strengthen engagement with Yinhawangka members through storytelling updates and two-way feedback
Coordinate and maintain YACs website social media channels newsletters and digital platforms
Support the development launch and ongoing management of the Yinhawangka App
Produce culturally appropriate content including stories media releases articles and promotional materials
Strengthen internal communications and staff engagement across YAC
Build relationships with media government and partner organisations
Ensure consistent branding tone and messaging aligned with Yinhawangka values
Coordinate photography videography and creative media
Improve communication systems databases and member contact accuracy
Provide mentoring support to the RJED Communications Officer (Yinhawangka Foundation)
Essential:
Relevant qualification in Communications Public Relations Media or equivalent experience
13 years experience in communications marketing or community engagement
Strong writing editing and storytelling skills
Experience managing websites social media and digital content
Ability to plan implement and evaluate communication strategies
Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Media liaison or brand management experience
Current unrestricted WA Drivers Licence
National Police Clearance (within 3 months)
Working With Children Check
Proof of unrestricted Australian working rights
What we offer
Salary: $85000 $95000 super salary sacrificing
1 extra week of annual leave paid shut down period during Christmas

Flexibility to WFH for up to 2 days a week
Option for Paraburdoo-based role (housing may be available for the right candidate).
