Instructor of English
Job Summary
The Department of English seeks to hire a full-time non-tenure track Instructor of English with a start date of August 2026. The instructor will teach a 4/4 load of composition speech and/or literature surveys as well as other courses needed by the department according to department practice and policy and will engage in appropriate service. Evidence of excellent teaching is required. Salary contingent upon qualifications experience and needs of the university.
Preference may be given to applicants with experience teaching composition especially developmental writing speech and literature surveys in a university setting as well as the demonstrated ability or expertise to teach other General Education and upper-level undergraduate courses that meet the needs of the department. Preference may also be given to applicants with the availability to teach in person on the JSU campus located in Jacksonville Alabama Monday-Thursday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Fridays 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
