The Coral Springs Family Health and Surgery Center provides patients with convenient access to the same world-class care provided at Cleveland Clinics regional hospitals. This state-of-the-art facility specializes in primary care outpatient surgery imaging and more. As an RN in Orthopaedic Surgery you willassistfellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care through performing EKGs administering medications monitoring patients and performing lab this role you will interact directly with patientsfamiliesand visitors offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed.

A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.

This position will provide support for the north sites including Coral Springs Parkland Wellington West Palm and Palm Beach Gardens.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Assess health status by completing a nursing assessment.

  • Perform telephone triage.

  • Notify physicians/LIPs of abnormal findings.

  • Establish a care plan in collaboration with the patient family and health care team.

  • Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care.

  • Assistwith specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician/LIP andmonitorpatients for response.

  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.

  • Provide health education to patients and families.

  • Develop evaluateadaptand document education to learning needs.

  • Participate in quality initiatives process improvements and research activities to improve patient outcomes patientexperienceand patient safety.

  • Maintain professional growth and development in the nursing field andidentifyannual core competencies.

  • Draw blood and perform EKGs.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN program)

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross

  • One year of recent experience as an RN

  • OR LPN Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area

  • Ability to draw blood and perform EKGs

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Orthopaedics or surgery experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Essential Duties: This position requires knowledge of all aspects of patient care including assessing; planning coordinating monitoring and evaluating the patients progress through the entire continuum of car in conjunction with the R.N. or physician.

  • Physical Duties: This position requires frequent walking sitting and standing.

  • Frequent talking and listening when giving instruction and explanations.

  • Frequent use of the phone; fax machines and occasional use of the computer.

  • Work is heavy constant lifting and moving patients carrying equipment supplies and material up to 50 pounds without help and over 50 pounds with the help of mechanical devices or other personnel.

  • You will be stooping pushing and pulling when moving patient into position for treatment; also you will be reaching handling feeling and manipulation of equipment into position.

  • Working Conditions: The majority of the time employee spends indoors in air-conditioned areas.

  • The potential for exposure to blood and blood borne pathogens is significant.

  • Clinical exposure to patients requires the use of personal protective equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • This position is high exposure to infectious wastes such as blood and bodily fluids that mandate the wearing of gloves masks gowns and goggles as appropriate.

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
