Job Summary
Job Title: Quality Control Microbiologist
Location: Gulfport MS
Position Type: Full-time
Role Summary:
The Quality Control Microbiologist will support laboratory operations by performing microbiological testing to detect and identify microorganisms in products materials and the manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with quality and regulatory standards through accurate testing and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare samples reagents and media for microbiological testing
- Perform testing using aseptic techniques plating Gram staining and microbial monitoring
- Operate calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Accurately record review and report test results in accordance with SOPs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of microbiological laboratory techniques
- Familiarity with GMPs SOPs and quality control systems
- Strong documentation and attention to detail
- Effective communication and time-management skills
- Basic understanding of deviations CAPAs and change control
Experience & Education
- Bachelors degree in Microbiology Biology or a related field (or equivalent laboratory experience)
- 3 5 years of relevant experience
- AET testing experience required
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Ability to sit stand or walk for extended periods
