Reporting to the Manager Policy and Program Development the Policy Analyst is responsible for supporting and coordinating the development and implementation of multiple transportation engagement and policy initiatives that will impact the long-term and future direction of the transportation system in Alberta. This includes developing program policies and transportation safety programs and conducting legislative and regulatory reviews.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conducts policy and data analysis to support transportation initiatives major studies and departmental decision making.
- Prepares clear advisory notes reports and recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative research.
- Monitors emerging trends industry developments and external information sources to inform policy direction.
- Engages and collaborates with stakeholders industry partners consultants and other government bodies.
- Participates in internal and external meetings workshops and cross-government initiatives.
- Reviews existing policies and identifies opportunities to improve programs strategies and regulatory approaches.
- Builds and maintains networks to gather timely information and support evidence based policy development.
