The Importance of the Role

The intern will help accelerate ongoing research timelines by supporting molecular assays data analysis and model development. This fresh perspective and added resourcing allow the team to maintain momentum on highpriority strategic initiatives while strengthening Sareptas mission to advance innovative therapies efficiently.

The Opportunity to Make a Difference

Explore establish and maintain 3D liver models or transwell culture systems that more accurately represent physiological liver environments.

Perform AAV transduction experiments under both control and steatosis conditions to evaluate liver injury phenotypes.

Conduct molecular assaysincluding ddPCR RTddPCR and ELISAto quantify relevant injury or mechanistic markers.

Contribute to assay development and optimization for mechanistic endpoints such as:

Steatosis markers

Fibrosis markers

Oxidative stress indicators

Apoptosis markers

Assist with experimental planning sample processing data organization and preliminary data interpretation.

Summarize experimental findings in a scientific presentation delivered to the team at the end of the internship.

Maintain accurate and detailed electronic lab records in accordance with scientific and organizational standards.

More about You

Currently pursuing a bachelors degree masters degree in biology Molecular Biology Biochemistry Biomedical Engineering Pharmacology or a related scientific discipline.

Prior laboratory experience in cell culture or molecular biology preferred (coursework or lab rotations acceptable).

Familiarity with assays such as PCR ELISA or cellbased assays is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing highquality reproducible data.

Ability to follow scientific protocols ask thoughtful questions and adapt to new experimental techniques.

Strong communication organization and collaboration skills.

Interest in therapeutic development AAV biology or toxicology research.

Program Timeline

This application is for a 12-week summer internship program that will start on May 18th and conclude on August 7th 2026.

This position requires work on site at one of Sareptas facilities in the United States.

The targeted salary range for this position is $21 - $26 per hour depending upon years of education completed and nature of role.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
