We are recruiting for a Floating Receptionist to join us on a part time basis. You will be supporting our Hertfordshire Family Centre Service which is made up of the Public Health Nursing Service (Health Visitors and School Nurses) and the Family Support Service. Our purpose is to support children and families to have the best start in life develop well and thrive.
We provide families with children aged up to 5 years with a wide range of services information and support on key areas relating to family life. This role involves providing receptionist support across two sites in Borehamwood and St Albans.
The Role:
As a Floating Receptionist/Administrator you will undertake front of house responsibilities ensuring a first class warm and welcoming professional service at all times whilst maintaining discretion and confidentiality towards all visitors as well as supporting with administrative tasks.
Responsibilities include greeting visitors answering phone calls managing schedules handling administrative tasks and ensuring smooth office operations.
You should have strong organisational skills and be able to keep up with new information and processes.
You should have good communication skills verbal written and a good telephone manner.
You will develop an understanding of the Services full offer to ensure families can be signposted and supported as appropriate.
You will provide a wide range of additional administrative support as required including data entry and record keeping. You will provide support to the wider Family Centre Hub and locality team and organise events as required
You will support with the composing of letters incoming and outgoing post diary management and raising and processing purchase orders.
Requirements
Level 2 Qualification in relevant field (Customer Service or Administration) is desirable
The role requires flexibility to float between the two locations as needed and you will need a valid UK driving licence and access to a car during working hours willingness to travel to and work from different Centres and insurance that allows you to drive for business purposes.

We deliver a vast array of services across Herts Beds and Bucks that reach over 135000 individuals annually.

- Provision of over 700 units of accommodation for homeless people
- Move on accommodation for individuals moving onto independent living
- Housing and practical/emotional support for young asylum seekers
- Community HUBs hosting a range of activities and meeting space hire
- Childcare provision in Hertfordshire
- Family support through a network of childrens and family centres covering Hertfordshire and Bedford
- Therapeutic and non-therapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire Luton and Hertfordshire
- Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
- Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund

We offer support advice and guidance for families from pregnancy through to when a child reaches the end of Primary School (11 years old). Our purpose is to support families to receive seamless integrated services support and information on key areas relating to family life. This is provided through universal services where there are emerging needs along with when more specialist or 1;1 support would be beneficial. Services can be delivered through 1:1 group sessions and activities accessed within centres community venues or support workers will visit families within their homes to ensure individual familys needs are met.
The geographical area we cover includes Broxbourne East Herts and Welwyn and Hatfield Districts (the East Quadrant of Hertfordshire). With our purpose being to support children and families to have the best start in life develop well and thrive.
These include:
