This position is central to the execution and enforcement of health safety and environmental (HSE) standards across all construction operations. The supervisor ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and internal safety protocols by conducting regular site monitoring identifying potential hazards and driving proactive risk mitigation strategies. Through consistent oversight facilitation of safety training sessionsincluding Toolbox Talks (TBT) pre-work inspections and permit reviewsthe HSE Supervisor fosters a culture of safety and accountability. The role is instrumental in reducing incident rates ensuring statutory compliance and supporting continuous improvement in HSE performance across projects.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily site activities to ensure full compliance with HSE policies procedures and regulatory standards.
- Conduct pre-work inspections and review work permits to assess and mitigate operational risks.
- Identify document and report unsafe acts and conditions in a timely manner.
- Organize and lead Toolbox Talks (TBT) safety training sessions and motivational safety initiatives.
- Coordinate and implement HSE programs including large-scale TBTs and site-wide safety campaigns.
- Manage fire safety concerns and ensure readiness for emergency response protocols.
- Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare comprehensive reports for management review.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop implement and track corrective actions for safety non-conformities.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Science (with Physics & Chemistry) or a diploma in Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
- Minimum of two years of direct experience in safety management within a construction environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing day-to-day construction safety and fire safety challenges.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations risk assessment methodologies and incident prevention practices.
- Strong proficiency in safety documentation inspection processes and statutory compliance (including the Factories Act).
- Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills with the ability to influence safety behavior across teams.
