Character of Position
As a CMM Operator you will be responsible for operating and programming the CMM to ensure that precision parts details and assemblies meet stringent quality standards of the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities
- Measure and inspect jobs according to technical drawings and specifications for dimensional accuracy.
- Interpret CAD models blueprints and GD&T symbols.
- Program automated inspections to optimize accuracy and efficiency in measurement processes.
- Record analyze and report inspection results maintaining accurate documentation.
- Contribute to the improvement of inspection processes to meet the evolving needs of aerospace manufacturing and quality standards.
- Must contribute to corporate quality policy and objectives.
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines and ITAR compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Strong understanding of GD&T and its application in aerospace manufacturing.
- Ability to use metrology tools and techniques including calipers micrometers and gauges.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Personal effectiveness/credibility.
- Problem solving skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Clear and consistent communication.
Experience
- Verisurf or equivalent software.
- 2 years of experience operating and programming CMM equipment in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Additional technical training in metrology or aerospace manufacturing is a plus.
