Senior CNC Turning Setup / Operator
Location: South Windsor CT
About the Opportunity
BestLogic Staffing is partnering with a leading manufacturing client to hire an experienced Senior CNC Turning Setup / Operator. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who can independently set up program adjustments and run CNC lathes while maintaining high precision and efficiency.
Youll play a key role in production quality control and mentoring junior operators.
Key Responsibilities

Perform full setups and operation of CNC turning (lathe) machines

Read and interpret blueprints GD&T and technical drawings

Make program edits offsets and adjustments to meet tight tolerances

Select and apply proper cutting tools feeds and speeds

Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools

Troubleshoot machining issues and implement process improvements

Maintain high production output while ensuring top quality standards

Complete all required production documentation (scrap counts time logs)

Maintain clean and organized workstations and equipment

Assist in training and mentoring junior machinists and operators

Follow all safety quality and company policies
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
5 years of CNC turning (lathe) setup and operation experience

Strong understanding of G-code editing and machine controls
-
Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers calipers gauges)
-
Ability to hold tight tolerances and work independently
-
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Must meet ITAR/EAR compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes
-
Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
