Job Description
|
What you will be doing:
- Lead the development of manufacturing processes for new aerospace components.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives across engineering teams.
- Create and prove out N/C programs operation sequences work holding design concepts tooling/gauge lists and detailed work instructions.
- Support and improve existing production processes through hands-on shop floor engagement.
- Estimate time standards labor ratios and economic run quantities for complex parts.
- Generate detailed cost estimates for new business and process improvements.
- Evaluate and implement new capital equipment and manufacturing technologies.
- Collaborate daily with engineers technicians operations staff quality teams and suppliers to resolve process issues and mentor peers.
- Lead projects and potentially own the engineering portion of a dedicated manufacturing cell.
- Support automated manufacturing cells to reduce labor and variability.
Experience you will need:
- A bachelors degree in a technical field with 5 years of relevant professional experience or an associate degree with 8 years of relevant professional experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of proven professional experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience in 5-Axis CNC Milling programming using CAD/CAM (NX experience preferred but not required).
- Proven experience in end-to-end process engineeringfrom raw material to finished product.
- Hands-on machining experience including setup and operation.
- Expertise in machining a variety of materials (aluminum titanium stainless steel etc.).
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools work holding and fixture design.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Project management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word Excel etc.).
