Job Description:
The Missile Solutions Missile Propulsion sector is seeking an experienced Systems Development Verification and Test Engineer to join our Systems Engineering organization. This engineering role supports and/or leads solid rocket motor and controllable solid rocket motor development test programs. Develop system and subsystem test execution plans test procedures and test reports. Primarily involves critical testing on multiple ongoing and future solid propulsion system development programs.
Essential Functions:
- 70%:
- Support and/or lead solid rocket motor and controllable solid rocket motor development test programs with testing in various environments.
- Develop system and subsystem test execution plans test procedures and test reports.
- Lead and/or chair Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs).
- Coordinate test equipment test facility preparations test article assembly hardware assessment and instrumentation requirements.
- Support requirements verification and planning and risk assessment.
- Communicate plans status and results to internal program team and external customers.
- Travel: 30%- Offsite testing locations.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 6 years of prior Test and Verification experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior Test and Verification lieu of a degree minimum of 10 years of prior Test and Verification experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Mechanical Systems Engineering or related technical discipline is preferred.
- Active US Secret Security Clearance is preferred.
- Experience in propulsion system (primarily solid propulsion) testing is highly desired.
- Demonstrated leadership competency and solid communication skills in both verbal and written is preferred.
- Experience in preparing test plans test readiness review presentations and test reports is preferred.
- Experience coordinating integrated teams for propulsion system testing is preferred.
