Job Summary

Description

The Equipment Clerk performs activities to maintain central storage stocking levels and to satisfy department needs throughout the assigned facility. Equipment is located via asset tracking phone request and/or visual inspection of official equipment storage locations and transported cleaned/decontaminated and prepared for future patient use according to established cleaning and handling procedures. The Equipment Clerk also performs supply replenishment activities on an as needed basis.



Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service
    1. Communicates effectively with customers

    3. Perform routine quality/service rounds to units
    4. Pays attention to detail that assures patients visitors and employees have a quality experience in our facility
    5. Demonstrates commitment to achieving superior customer satisfaction through quality of work communication problem solving initiative flexibility and adaptability and attitude
    6. Greets customers in a friendly manner
    7. Works well with others by recognizing the value of our diverse workforce and remains open to new view points ideas and talents
    8. Understands the importance of a positive attitude and recognizes that our customers have a sense of urgency
  2. Inventory Control/Materials Management
    1. Locates equipment requiring service via asset tracking phone requests and/or visual inspection of official equipment inventory locations.
    2. Transports cleans/decontaminates and prepares equipment for future patient use in accordance with established procedures.
    3. Monitors and maintains established stocking levels in central storage and departmental storage locations; anticipates and reports any equipment concerns to Supervisor.
    4. Ensures equipment is appropriately tagged for inventory and tracking purposes.
    5. Performs supply replenishment activities when adequate equipment support is completed and as directed by Supervisor.
    6. Demonstrates a complete understanding of policies and procedures
    7. Demonstrates a complete understanding of software procedures
    8. Ensures proper procedures are followed for incoming and outgoing rental equipment.
    9. Assembles and inspects all rental equipment as ready to use.
    10. Assists in annual inventory of hospital supplies.
    11. Observes and adheres to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures and follows all safety quality assurance and infection control standards
  3. Other Duties as Assigned
    1. Completes assigned projects
    2. Active involvement in performance improvement initiatives


Qualifications
  1. 2 years experience in service/trades with at least 1 year in a materials position
  2. High School Diploma or equivalent
