Job Summary
An Assistant Public Defender is charged with the responsibility of representing the indigent defendant accused of criminal or civil offenses that threaten the potential loss of liberty. A candidate should demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of criminal law the court system legal procedures and legal terminology. A successful candidate should also demonstrate the ability to think logically; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; possess a dedicated work ethic; and be willing to accept the responsibilities of a demanding criminal practice and caseload.
