Student Intern – Engineering Drafting

This position assists our engineering/drafting team in creating and updating technical drawings models and documentation. This internship offers hands-on experience in CAD software engineering design and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects.

Essential Functions 

• Support senior drafters and engineers in creating detailed structural drawings and plans
• Assist in examining documents such as contract drawings specifications and change orders to verify completeness and accuracy of data according to designers drawings
• Use CAD and Tekla software to produce technical drawings
• Collaborate with engineers to interpret design specifications and ensure alignment with project requirements
• Review and adjust drawings to meet industry codes regulations and project standards
• Assist in communicating with project team members to coordinate drafting activities and resolve design related issues
• Assist in the preparation of design documentation reports and presentations
• Learn and apply industry standards and best practices in structural drafting
• Adhere to company policies and safety guidelines throughout all tasks and projects

Qualifications :

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or equivalent or certification from trade/technical school in a related discipline
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Tekla and other similar tools is required
• Ability to read analyze and interpret technical procedures specifications governmental regulations drawings and job specifications
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively with customers

Additional Information :

Term: Monday May 4 2026 to Friday August 28 2026

Pay rate: $20 to $22.50 per hour
