Role description:

The Project Controls Associate MEP supports Capital Management teams by preparing reviewing and verifying MEP deliverables related to cost estimation contracts cost reporting and change order assessments. This role is part of the Project Controls Team within the Centre of Excellence (COE) team and aligns deliverables to project requirements regional codes and standards and ensures independent cost verification. The associate contributes to process standardization and governance initiatives to improve commercial efficiencies within real estate projects particularly office fit-outs.

Role accountabilities:

  • Integrated Project Controls: Collaborate with Project Controls team members to align Capital Management deliverables and timelines ensuring strict adherence to the policies and procedures of each Stage Gate process.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering Finance Procurement and Risk teams to support procurement strategies P&L management and independent cost verification across key project milestones.
  • MEP Deliverable Management: Support the preparation of MEP-specific deliverablesincluding cost estimates change order assessments and cost reportsensuring alignment with regional codes standards and project requirements.
  • Commercial Monitoring & Reporting: Assist the Project Controls Manager in reviewing MEP design information against approved Business Cases to identify budget gaps and support quarterly/annual capital planning exercises.
  • Process Optimization & Standardization: Drive global process standardization and quality assurance initiatives to improve governance commercial efficiency and the implementation of standard COE tools and templates.
  • Market Intelligence & Strategic Awareness: Monitor construction industry trends including MEP technologies and economic indices (inflation/commodity prices) to assess their impact on capital projects and design stages (RIBA).
  • Operational Excellence & Team Leadership: Proactively escalate operational issues participate in continuous improvement programs and provide regular performance updates to leadership to foster an innovative and efficient team culture.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Quantity Surveying.
  • 5 to 6 years of experience in delivering MEP cost management quantity surveying services for Real Estate projects (Office fit-outs Investment Banking and Financial Institutions experience preferable)
  • Good understanding of pre-contract (quantification & market analysis supporting cost planning benchmarking design validation risk management) and post-contract (rate analysis & drawings measurements supporting change control management cost reporting final accounts) stages of MEP services of Real Estate projects.
  • Experience working in a global organization or COE or PMO (prior experience of working on Owners side is preferable).
  • Awareness about construction/engineering practices trends and cost indices.
  • Experience of working with stakeholders and teams spread across 2-3 regions.
