Job Summary and Responsibilities
What would it mean to re-imagine childcare CHI St. Joseph Childrens Health envisions a new approach to childcare that provides every child and family with an environment programs and services that affirm the dignity and value of children parents and caregivers each day. The St. John Neumann School for Children and Families emerged from this very concept.
Located in Columbia Borough the St. John Neumann School for Children and Families is committed not just to providing your child with a safe place during your workday but also to offering every family a nurturing environment filled with teachers and coaches who are truly concerned about your child and familys health wellbeing development and success.
Caring for children from six weeks through Kindergarten the St. John Neumann School provides a developmentally appropriate Waldorf-inspired curriculum designed to stimulate your childs creativity and encourage the development of healthy habits a healthy love of learning and healthy relationships.
As the Assistant Director - St. John Neumann School the selected candidate will:
- Implement professional community and individual development programs including off-site experiential learning opportunities for faculty and students of the St John Neumann School. This includes program development and determining how best to improve development and enrichment programming within the school.
- Facilitate informational workshops and trainings for faculty that promote professional and individual growth and learning consistent with the curriculum standards and wellness expectations of CHI St. Joseph Childrens Health.
- Lead the implementation and provide employees with the on-going training necessary for the effective use of the student information system utilized by the St John Neumann School.
- Assure that all faculty and staff meet the training and certification requirements of the St John Neumann School.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the St John Neumann School as needed.
- Maintain and coordinate necessary inventory and program supplies for assigned programs and projects.
- Coordinate the work of partners and volunteers.
- Support the evaluation of programming and services to assure high-quality and impactful services to improve the health and well-being of residents.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners in collaboration with the Director - St John Neumann School.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Education (including licenses certifications):
- Bachelors Degree in Education Social Work Human Services Public Health or related field required.
Experience (required and preferred):
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years experience with school-based educational programs and services.
Skill Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Comfort working with computers.
- Demonstrate a high comfort working with diverse populations and an understanding of the cultural and social barriers that can exist when accessing health or health-related care.
- Promote a positive team-based approach to program development implementation and delivery.
