Whats the job
About the Role
We are going through and exciting period of change and areseekinga highly motivated and experiencedSeniorData Engineer to join our Data Engineering team.
You willbe responsible forend-to-enddevelopment on the data platform including test development to ensure continued service delivery versus expectations. You willunderstandall engineering stages for a data platform by providing an end-to-end full stack dataexpertisefrom design to build. You will be a leading member of the team helping to develop and mentor junior members as well as input into design and architectural decisions.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing direction to data engineers working on the data platform includingbest practicesreviewand testing processes
- Providing engineering support as required to the data engineering resource within the deliverysquads
- Responsible for ensuring we have the right data engineering resource on the programme andthey are properly onboarded and mentored
- Update job knowledge by studyingstate-of-the-arttools programming techniques andcomputing equipment and byparticipatingin educational opportunities reading professionalpublicationsmaintainingpersonal networks andparticipatingin professional organisations
- Provide information by collecting analysing and summarising development and serviceissues
- Support and develop data engineers by providing advice coaching and educationalopportunities
What youll bring
- Engineering background with proven experience in designing developing andmaintaininglarge-scale distributed data processing systems.
- Solid knowledge of data modelling principles data quality practices testing approaches and best practices for data access and storage.
- Strongproficiencyin data scripting and query languages within modern data ecosystems including Python SQL andPySpark.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and DBT to build optimise andmaintaindata pipelines and workflows.
- Practical experience delivering cloud-based data solutions on at least one major cloud platform (Azure- preferable AWS or GCP).
- Experience contributing to improvements in development efficiency including reducing development lead time and enhancing the data development lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and experienceoperatingwithin Agile delivery frameworks.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
