Counselors-in-Training (CITs) assist in four classes per day and help lead small groups of campers. They also get a chance to develop their leadership skills during our recreational Choice period. CITs participate in a full week of staff training. CITs receive a weekly stipend of $400 for this training position.
We hope our CITs learn to create a nurturing environment for youth to connect and take artistic risks. We aim for them to explore how different instructors in different art forms approach teaching.
Requirements
- CITs must be 16 years old as of June 29 2026.
- High school and undergraduate students are welcome to apply.
- CITs must be available Monday-Friday June 29- August 8 2025 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. The full time commitment is . Exceptions can be made for school or college orientations.
NOTE: Applicants need not have been a camper at Camp Arena Stage.

- Applying for a job is part of the CIT training process. Please write us a short cover letter and resume. A cover letter should let us know why you are interested in being a CIT what you want to learn and why you think you are a great fit for the program. Your cover letter should include the following:
- Why do you want to be a CIT at Camp Arena Stage
- What do you hope to learn in this training program
- Tell us about your experience working with young people (ex. babysitting tutoring volunteering etc.).
- Tell us about your art experience (ex. playing an instrument being in a play arts and crafts film editing sewing etc.)
- CIT interviews will be held in late April/early May. Scheduling will begin at the beginning of April.
- We will send updates as they are available to the email address you provide below.
