Job Summary

About the role:

The After Hours Support Worker plays a key role within the MacKillop National After Hours Services Unit providing highquality residential care and support to vulnerable young people outside standard operating hours. The position focuses on creating safe nurturing environments promoting young peoples wellbeing rights independence and connection to important relationships and culture. The worker also participates in team meetings supervision and professional development to support consistent highquality outcomes for young people and their families. The After-Hours Support Worker shift commences at 9pm to 7am.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity in Geelong VIC within our MacKillop National After-Hours Services program. This position reports to the Team Leader/ Coordinator.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Extensive experience in youth services or youth residential care.
  • Tertiary qualifications in youth work or relevant field.
  • Ability to relate to and work with young people with social emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Ability to implement behaviour management plans for young people with challenging behaviours.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

You must have a:

  • Valid and current Drivers Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
