About the Role:

As an Electrical Quality Assurance Specialist you will play a key role in supporting the Quality Assurance Program by ensuring all project activities meet regulatory code requirements and Enbridge electrical standards. You will oversee electrical QA processes across design construction and commissioning phases; review electrical turnover documentation; perform field compliance assessments; and lead or support investigations into electrical-related nonconformances. Your contributions will reduce electrical installation risks and help deliver safe reliable and fully compliant project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure electrical project execution complies with all applicable regulatory codes (e.g. CSA NEC/NFPA 70 IEEE) and Enbridge electrical standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external project teams to provide technical input and report on overall quality performance.
  • Triage investigate and manage electrical quality nonconformance incidents; develop and implement effective Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions (CAPAs).
  • Conduct quality orientation and training for inspectors and contractors; provide ongoing technical coaching on Enbridge specifications processes and standards.
  • Review construction records and red-line/record drawings to ensure documentation is traceable complete verifiable and compliant for project turnover.
  • Visit active work sites to assess quality performance and verify adherence to QA processes procedures and requirements; communicate field assessment results to construction teams.
  • Review and approve Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Contractor Quality Plans; confirm all required Quality Control (QC) reporting meets standards prior to turnover.
  • Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections related to project construction.
  • Perform engineering quality assurance through the review of drawing packages specifications and material procurement documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement of the overall Quality Management Program.

Scope/Dimensions:

  • Role is operationally critical to ensuring regulatory and internal compliance.
  • Supports an annual project portfolio valued between $50M$150M.
  • Projects are executed within existing facilities under Core Programs and may include but are not limited to:
  • Relay replacements
  • Cable installations
  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) installations
  • Switchgear upgrades and replacements
  • Substation upgrades and modifications

Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary engineering degree electrical technologist/technician designation or certified electrical trade background (preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical construction commissioning QA/QC or related roles in oil & gas facilities or pipeline environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical standards and codes such as CSA NEC IEEE NETA etc.
  • Experience in civil welding coating or NonDestructive Examination (NDE) activities is considered an asset.
  • Excellent analytical communication and problemsolving skills with the ability to guide and influence quality practices across multidisciplinary teams.
