Overview
The Global Sanctions Oversight Lead will provide subject matter expertise on U.S. and global economic sanctions laws. This role is responsible for managing and motivating a high performing advisory team delivering enterprise-wide sanctions guidance and overseeing the execution of sanctions-related programs and initiatives. The Director will partner closely with Compliance Legal Risk Operations and Business stakeholders to ensure effective governance risk mitigation and regulatory adherence.

What Youll Do
Provide real-time risk-based guidance and support on sanctions related matters to internal stakeholders including front office and operations
Lead manage and motivate a team of sanctions advisory professionals fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement
Prepare and deliver clear concise reporting and presentations to management and governance committees
Review escalations high-risk transactions and business proposals for potential exposure to embargoed countries entities or prohibited end uses
Monitor and interpret changes in regulatory developments communicate impact to the organization and translate requirements into actionable internal policies and controls
Lead program management activities including policy enhancements issue management and remediation related initiatives

Lead with clarity and purpose setting a clear vision for the Economic Sanctions Advisory function that aligns with regulatory expectations and organizational priorities
Build inspire and retain a high-performing advisory team through active coaching thoughtful delegation and a focus on professional development
Foster a culture of accountability collaboration and sound risk judgment encouraging open dialogue and timely escalation of issues
Skills Youll Need
Masters Juris doctor or other advanced degree or industry experience in sanctions compliance export controls trade compliance or a related advisory role
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate regulatory concepts into clear guidance for wider stakeholder engagement
Ability to work across geographic boundaries to achieve organizational goals and objectives
Knowledge of business products operations systems for a financial services sector
Ability to deliver timely and quality execution in a fast-paced and high-pressured environment and flexibility to meet deadlines ability to act decisively and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Skills That Will Help You Excel
Experience advising on sanctions and complex related regulatory risks in financial institutions
Fundamental knowledge of sanctions regulations and strong research and investigation skills
Flexibility and ability to multi-task in response to business demands in a fast-paced environment
Ability to identify escalate and communicate issues succinctly to senior management proactively
Expectations
It is the Banks expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Washington DC office in accordance with the Banks hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Washington DC is $170000 to $308000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including but not limited to a candidates skill set experience education work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
