Position Details:
Full Time Salaried Exempt.
Position Summary:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for providing leadership and establishing strategic direction for ancillary and support services departments of Lake District Hospital as assigned. The COO is accountable for ensuring high-quality customer-focused cost-effective services within the areas of responsibility designated by the Administrator Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The COO is involved in identifying new business lines and services to increase revenues and in pursuing new innovative possibilities which enhance patient focus and respond to community addition the COO attends Board of Directors Medical Staff and administrative and departmental meetings with the CEO. The COO is responsible for the hospital in the absence of the CEO.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelors degree preferably in health care administration and/or MBA.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years in administration with an acute hospital. Extensive hands-on experience in computer applications and technology.
Job Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to analyze managed care contracts. Ability to supervise key department staff work to implement as a team following the broad goals of the mission statement of the hospital. Ability to work independently under the policies established by the board of directors and general direction of the CEO.
