Position Summary
Temporary teaching position for the SHAPA Pod located in Sheridan Oregon. This is a part-time long-term substitute assignment providing instructional continuity for an extended period. The position serves a recurring instructional schedule and ends May 28 2026.
Position Overview
Assignment: In-person substitute teaching for up to 30 students
Grade Levels: Kindergarten through Grade 5
Subjects: Multiple subjects
Location: 339 NW Sherman St Sheridan OR 97378
Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:45 a.m. 2:15 p.m.
Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week
Pay Rate: $37.50 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide a classroom experience that supports individual student growth and group excellence
Foster character development leadership cooperation and respect among students
Maintain a positive inclusive classroom environment that encourages responsible citizenship
Implement lesson plans and classroom routines provided by the Mentor Teacher
Maintain effective classroom management and promote student engagement
Accurately take attendance and complete required records and documentation
Prepare a written summary of daily activities and any concerns for the Mentor Teacher
Communicate professionally with staff and parents as appropriate and in accordance with school procedures
Minimum Qualifications
Some college coursework from an accredited college or university required
Bachelors degree preferred
Must be eligible for authorization through the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC)prior to employment including substitute teaching licensure and/or charter school registry as appropriate to the assignment
Ability to establish and maintain a positive professional learning environment
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Additional Requirements
Successful completion of required background checks and fingerprinting
Ability to comply with all school policies and procedures
