The Cyber Crime Senior Analyst position is located within the Cyber Crime Unit of the Special Investigations Section. This position is responsible for leading complex cybercrime investigations involving illegal computer intrusions multi-defendant conspiracies and large-scale cyber incidents. The Cyber Crime Senior Analyst serves as a subject matter expert on cybercrime tactics digital forensic methodologies and applicable federal state and local cyber laws and works collaboratively with local state and federal law enforcement agencies prosecutors and cyber task forces to support criminal investigations and prosecutions.
The Cyber Crime Senior Analyst conducts and oversees the collection analysis and preservation of digital evidence; serves as on-scene commander during major cyber incident responses; and provides technical guidance to law enforcement personnel and lower-level analysts. The position also includes responsibility for planning and delivering specialized training developing continuing education curricula coordinating multi-agency investigative efforts and assessing emerging technologies to enhance cyber investigative capabilities and response effectiveness.
Three years of experience in law enforcement cybersecurity intelligence or investigatory work plus five years of experience in digital forensics examinations or cybersecurity; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in digital forensics examinations or cybersecurity; OR
A bachelors degree plus five years of experience in digital forensics examinations or cybersecurity; OR
A bachelors degree in computer science cybersecurity information systems plus four years of experience in digital forensics examinations or cybersecurity.

Job Duties:
Serves as a subject matter expert on cybercrime including criminal cyber tactics digital evidence preservation and collection and applicable federal state and local cyber laws; provides technical guidance and expert interpretation of investigative findings.
Leads highly sensitive and complex cyber investigations including illegal intrusions multi-defendant conspiracies and large-scale cyber incidents applying advanced digital forensic techniques and expertise in complex systems and networks.
Directs emergency cyber incident response efforts for ESF-17 serving as on-scene commander during large-scale attacks overseeing triage forensic analysis proper evidence handling and acting as evidence custodian.
Collects reviews and analyzes digital evidence from computers systems and networks; ensures investigative integrity by mentoring and guiding lower-level analysts on proper forensic and evidence collection methodologies.
Plans develops and delivers specialized training and continuing education programs for law enforcement and analysts on cybercrime investigations digital forensics and emerging technical methodologies.
Collaborates with prosecutors federal and local law enforcement and cyber task forces; facilitates multi-agency coordination and evaluates emerging software and hardware technologies to enhance cyber investigative capabilities and integrate new tools into criminal investigations.
