At Worley in Christchurch were expanding our team and looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a Mechanical background to join us.

What youll do

The role responsibilities include:

  • Ensure projects are delivered at or below the approved budget
  • Ensure Worley approved systems processes & tools are deployed and complied with on the project
  • Identify potential technical risks and develop effective risk mitigation contingency and resolution plans.
  • Make independent decisions based on established guidelines taking into account the cost and schedule impact to the project.
  • Daily administration of project and/or Worley policies and processes in order for the projects team to meet business objectives.
  • Work with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance.
  • Apply knowledge of all aspects of project engineering and ensure successful technical coordination.
  • Maintain HSE focus within the team to ensure HSE requirements are included in design and procurement.

What youll have

  • A University degree in Mechanical engineering
  • Previous mechanical engineering experience.
  • End to end project delivery experience
  • Competent in Microsoft Outlook Word Excel Teams and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to organise information from many sources and retain as per the prescribed format and policies.
  • Understanding of project budgets project resource plans and earned value tracking.
  • Understanding of project schedules and resource plan requirements for technical aspects of the project.
  • The ability to clearly and professionally communicate with project stakeholders and project teams.
  • A positive and respectful attitude that fosters collaboration and teamwork to ensure the successful outcome of projects.
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the South Island occasionally as required.
  • Water experience desirable
