The Opportunity

TECKperts client a government agency in Florida is seeking an experienced and highly skilledGIS Database Administrator (DBA)to support and manage critical database systems in GIS for the agencys Office of Information Technology (OIT) Application Services. This advanced-level role requires a professional with deep technical expertise in database administration performance tuning and high-availability solutions.

Primary job duties include but are not limited to:

• Administer monitor and maintain enterprise database systems (specifically PostgreSQL and Oracle) to ensure high performance security and availability.
• Design implement and manage database security policies disaster recovery (DR) plans and backup strategies.
• Perform complex performance monitoring tuning and troubleshooting of database instances and queries including those that handlespatial data sets.
• Manage database patches upgrades migrations and installations across development test and production environments.
• Provide advanced technical support and resolution for database-related incidents and problems.
• Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams on database design and implementation projects.

Compensation and Term

This opportunity is for a full-timecontract position with possibleextensions and pay commensurate with experience up to$140000per year. Medical dental vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.

Qualifications you need

A successfulcandidatehas the following experience:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Database Administration or a related IT field.
• Demonstrated experience as an Advanced or Senior Database Administrator.
• Proven experience supporting databases utilizing spatial extensions (e.g. PostGIS) or features (e.g. Oracle Spatial).
• Expert-level knowledge of database technologies architecture and administration tools.
• Proven experience with high-availability and disaster recovery solutions (e.g. clustering replication).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work flexible hours including on-call support.
