Reporting to the Procurement & Stores Supervisor the Stores Assistant is responsible for moving stock as required and issued to specific departments. The incumbent must help to ensure that sufficient stock and inventory levels are maintained. Other responsibilities include labeling stock taking and daily housekeeping. The Stores Assistant is expected to liaise with suppliers as well as the procurement team in collaboration with the Stores Supervisor.

Stock Management
Assist Stores Supervisor with the following tasks:
- Ensure that sufficient stock levels are maintained
- Check stock levels and complete request requisition and re-orders as required for sign-off
- Ensure that quality quantity and pricing is upheld
- Ensure that receiving and issuing of stock is compliant with company policy
- Monthly cycle count per department (i.e. plumbing landscaping electrical and general)
- Annual stock count for financial year-end
- Liaise with suppliers re special goods to be ordered and sends requisition to procurement
- Update system as stock is received / issued
- When ordering stock allocate bin to the correct department
- Create item numbers for new stock items
- Implement measures to avoid stock damages theft and wastage
- Keep storeroom neatly packed and tidy
General
- Maintain housekeeping in area
- General admin and reporting
- Foster professional working relationships with employees and suppliers
