The high level:
The Washington Tennis Education Foundation Reading Partners Coordinator (WTEF-RPC) is a position that is part of a dynamic partnership team working to ensure that our Washington DC students are positioned for success after school. Their role is to work closely with the community engagement team to implement after-school tutoring program operations and fundraising and tutor support at the Washington Tennis Education Foundation (WTEF). Reporting directly to the managing director WTEF-RPC supports duties that are critical to the operations in the Mid-Atlantic region.
This is an in-person role and candidates must reside in the Washington DC metropolitan area with access to reliable transportation. The start date for this position is in February 2026 and it concludes on June 30 2026.
Candidates must be able to work 4:00 - 7:00 PM Monday through Friday in person at the Washington Tennis Education Foundation 200 Stoddert Place Washington DC 20019.
What youll do:
70% - Lead After-School Tutoring at the Washington Tennis Education Foundation
- Lead the daily tutoring sessions by taking attendance scheduling students managing daily operations tutor coaching and program quality
- Provide in-person coaching and support for volunteer tutors
- Check in regularly with a member of the national Reading Partners team
20% - Community Engagement and Fundraising
- Attend and participate in family engagement workshops for WTEF families
- Attend and assist in planning 1-2 fundraising events in support of the RP/WTEF literacy partnership.
10% - Other Duties as Needed
How youll do it:
Relationship Management & Communication
- Forge and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders in building a community of literacy. Cultivate strong internal relationships with peers and support managers as needed. Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively as an ambassador of Reading Partners externally.
- Possess a strong aptitude for effective communication with program team members and other Reading Partners staff. Be able to set up strong systems for communication.
Project Management:
- Demonstrate an ability to effectively manage time balance multiple competing priorities at once and above all and remain adaptable flexible and positive while navigating challenges. Anticipate challenges and/or questions and proactively act to address them. Understand larger strategic priorities and make measurable progress against these larger goals.
- Demonstrate a strong detail orientation a strong drive for accuracy and the ability to manage projects independently and as part of a team. Execute all work in a data-driven manner. Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem-solve.
Innovative Thinking:
- Demonstrate an ability to create processes and systems to streamline internal operations. Demonstrate a high level of comfort with ambiguity and an ability to create order. Demonstrate an aptitude for framing problems as opportunities and always pushing to further streamline.

Compensation: This is a part-time temporary non-exempt hourly position. Part-time staff work an average of 10 - 15 hours per week. Compensation is $21.19/hour. We offer an exciting and dynamic culture and we commit to investing in supporting our amazing people to grow their careers with us. This position is not eligible for benefits.

- This role is an in-person role
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Listen and verbally communicate to provide coaching to tutors and students working together on literacy goals. Work effectively in a noisy setting with frequent interruptions. Maintain focus and productivity despite environmental distractions.
