About this Position

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Extensive experience with mainframe storage administration including familiarity with DS8000 and TS7700 hardware and VTS DFSMS HSM OAM CSM and GKLM software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues ensuring minimal downtime.
• Monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and deployment.
• Assist with system backups and disaster recovery processes.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations and procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to mainframe systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of five years of experience as a Mainframe Systems Programmer specifically with IBM mainframe technologies.
• Proficient in z/OS JCL CICS DB2 and other mainframe tools and utilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g. IBM Certified System Programmer) are a plus.
