Torch Technologies is seeking multiple Cybersecurity Engineers to provide the protection of information systems networks software firmware and embedded platforms used in DoD missile systems command and control (C2BMC) radar systems UAVs THAAD and other mission-critical defense programs. This role focuses on securing systems across the lifecycle including development integration test deployment and sustainment while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Positions are available across Levels IV with scope technical depth and leadership responsibilities aligned to experience and grade.
Key Responsibilities (All Levels):
Support cybersecurity engineering activities across DoD programs and system lifecycles.
Implement and assess security controls for software firmware networks and embedded systems.
Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities including system categorization control implementation and assessment.
Conduct vulnerability analysis risk assessments and impact evaluations.
Support secure system design integration and configuration.
Assist with system hardening patching and configuration management.
Support cybersecurity testing scanning and remediation activities.
Analyze cybersecurity impacts to mission safety and system performance.
Support cybersecurity documentation plans and artifacts.
Participate in security reviews audits and program milestones.
Collaborate with systems software network safety and program teams.
Level-Specific Expectations:
Cybersecurity Engineer I
Entry-level or early-career position.
Supports cybersecurity tasks under supervision.
Assists with documentation assessments and vulnerability tracking.
Learns DoD cybersecurity policies tools and processes.
Cybersecurity Engineer II
Performs cybersecurity tasks with limited supervision.
Independently supports RMF activities and control assessments.
Conducts vulnerability analysis and supports remediation efforts.
Participates in technical security discussions.
Cybersecurity Engineer III
Performs complex cybersecurity engineering activities independently.
Leads security efforts for subsystems or program areas.
Interfaces with program stakeholders and customers.
Mentors junior engineers.
Cybersecurity Engineer IV
Senior technical contributor.
Leads cybersecurity engineering across multiple systems or programs.
Provides subject matter expertise in secure architectures embedded security and mission systems.
Supports major reviews authorizations and customer engagements.
Cybersecurity Engineer V
Principal or expert-level role.
Defines cybersecurity strategies architectures and best practices.
Advises leadership on cyber risk mission impact and system protection.
Leads enterprise-level cybersecurity initiatives and improvements.
Required Qualifications (All Levels)
US Citizenship.
Bachelors Degree in Cybersecurity Engineering Computer Science or related technical field.
A minimum of 2 to 10 years of experience in systems security.
Experience or academic background in cybersecurity engineering information assurance or systems security.
Understanding of system lifecycles and cybersecurity fundamentals.
Ability to analyze technical risks and document findings clearly.
Active DoD security clearance or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD missile systems C2BMC radars UAVs THAAD or similar defense platforms.
Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g. RMF NIST 800-53 STIGs).
Experience securing embedded systems firmware or real-time systems.
Experience with vulnerability scanning penetration testing or security automation tools.
Security certifications (e.g. Security CISSP CEH or equivalent).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong analytical and risk-based thinking.
Attention to detail in mission-critical and classified environments.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Sound judgment and commitment to mission assurance.
