Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Provides a ministry of spiritual and pastoral care and counseling with patients families and staff in crises of illness and/or trauma. Provides resources of spirituality and/or religious faith that will enhance the total program of treatment and care. Participates as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides spiritual and pastoral care with patients families staff and faculty.

Provides or facilitates requests for sacramental ministry.

Actively participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team.

Support the emotional wellness of employees through routine engagement and spiritual and emotional debriefing after crisis and high stress times.

Acts as Liaison to community clergy and congregations.

Contributes to the organization by actively participating in process improvement initiatives and shared decision making.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

  • Patient Assessment (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient assessments in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Crisis Intervention (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate crisis intervention in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Spiritual Knowledge (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of spiritual knowledge in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge training and experience to be capable of successfully delivering spiritual knowledge services without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example giving technical instruction providing leadership and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.
  • Adult Learning (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the Adult Learning skill in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
