The Scottish Power Customer Business provides energy to millions of households and businesses across the UK offering fair pricing and a choice of tariffs to suit customer addition the Business offers products that help customers control and protect the energy in their homes and the flexibility to help customers manage their energy accounts today tomorrow and in the future which are all under the management of the Smart Solutions department in which this role is based.
Reporting to the Senior Customer Activation Manager as the Reporting & Planning Analyst you will support the management of an integrated commercial planning cycle and central activation plan across our full portfolio of products and propositions. By analyzing past performance overlying customer trends seasonality channel and marketing performance new propositions and promotions will be planned to deliver the highest volume at the lowest cost across all the right channels.
What youll be doing
- Support the integrated planning and activation approach including channel mapping bottom-up forecasting and delivery lead times to create consistency and clear visibility across the business
- Partner with Customer Activation team to understand the yield of each channel review past performance and propose the sales opportunity by channel to be delivered by the activation team
- Responsible for accurate forecasting enabling Smart Solutions to be set up to successfully deliver on budget re-phasing or re-planning with interventions to remain on track
- Define reporting requirements seeking to automate reporting and analyse reporting specific to proposition or promotional performance
- Responsible for reporting and data accuracy of the integrated planning cycles and activations
- Develop data dashboards to visualize key metrics and recommendations for standard or promotional volumes to be planned against each channel
- Review measurement and evaluation of live and past propositions analysing the success of propositions and recommending opportunities for improvement when you plan for future
- Meet reporting requirements or data preparation tasks for review meetings in line with planning cycles
- Track live propositions in partnership with revenue and activation teams against the forecast plan understanding what is working and what is not
- Monitor performance recommending interventions when there are volume shortfalls or over delivery collaborating directly with channel leads to adjust accordingly
- Collaborate with other Data teams in Customer Business understanding data sources and systems that will support the alignment of data initiatives
- Identify areas for opportunity and improvement and propose new solutions to department Heads and Integrated Planning Manager
What youll bring
- Experience in generating and analysing reports to make recommendations
- Experience in forecasting and managing volume drivers
- Experience with analytics platforms such as PowerBi Experience and in developing and building automated reports
- Ability to plan forecast volume and manage interventions
- Proven analytical skillset with experience managing and harmonising data from multiple different data sources
- Effective communicator with the ability to translate complex topics in easy-to-understand manner
- Ability to bring knowledge on the latest data software and data management tools
- Experience in developing and building automated reports
- Strong presentation skills and written reporting skills
- Ability to build effective relationships across the business
Minimum Criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience gained through hands on business experience
- Experience in data management systems and comfortable using various sources to carry out data analysis and create reports including but not limited to SAP SAS Python R and Synaps
- Proven ability to use a cross-section of data to turn it into usable insight.
- Highly Numerate and analytical
- Able to understand financial models and manage complex spreadsheets
