Job Summary
The Manager Software Engineering - Machine Learning & Telemetry Engineering leads and develops a team of machine learning engineers responsible for building scaling and maintaining QTSs telemetry analytics automation and datadriven product capabilities. This role oversees engineering work that enables automated device configuration telemetry ingestion pipelines environmental and fuel calculation logic system topology modeling and machinelearningpowered insights that support operational excellence across QTS facilities.
Responsibilities:
Lead mentor and develop a team of software development and Machine Learning professionals.
Plan coordinate and oversee ML telemetry automation and datapipeline engineering activities.
Manage engineering capacity performance and sprint commitments.
Oversee ML models telemetry pipelines automation workflows cloud infrastructure and environmental logic.
Guide design and implementation of integrations (Influx Redis CX Alloy Oracle/ServiceNow SCADA APIs).
Champion coding best practices reproducibility validation and observability.
Maintain engineering documentation and enforce productionreadiness standards.
Collaborate with teams across QTS such as FacOps QTSOS Facilities EHS SCADA/Network teams.
Align engineering deliverables with business priorities.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering Data Science or equivalent experience.
US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts.
5 years in ML data pipelines backend engineering or systems integration.
2 years leading engineers.
Experience deploying ML or datadriven systems to production.
Strong architectural and systemdesign experience.
Proficiency with Python SQL APIs distributed processing.
Preferred Qualifications:
8 years in ML data pipelines backend engineering or systems integration.
Experience with telemetry/SCADAadjacent systems.
Familiarity with Influx Grafana Redis.
Experience with cloudbased (AWS) ML workflows or model governance.
Ability to triage issues across data ML and infrastructure.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent interpersonal skills (communication conflict resolution negotiation etc.) when dealing with internal and/or external audiences at all levels of management
Excellent technical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Ability to determine prioritization and appropriate multitasking.
Focus on scope tone and quality of processes and their respective documentation as well as the associated goals priorities deadlines and weaknesses.
Ability to work independently with supervision on a project of varying complexity
Proven negotiator with the ability to juggle multiple competing tasks with ease
Sound influential and motivational skills to ensure software engineering team alignment
