NRDC is seeking a Senior Director CRM Operations and Data Analytics to work with the IT team in our Washington D.C. office.

Position Summary

The Senior Director of CRM Operations & Data Analytics is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for the vision performance and evolution of the organizations CRM platform and enterprise data analytics capabilities. This role ensures that CRM and data are leveraged as mission-critical assets to drive operational excellence informed decision-making and measurable impact across the organization.

Partnering closely with Development Programs Finance Digital Advocacy and Fundraising and Executive Leadership this role translates organizational goals into scalable CRM solutions trusted data and actionable insights. The Senior Director leads platform strategy data governance analytics delivery and a team of CRM and data professionals while fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

CRM Platform Strategy & Operations

  • Own the overall vision roadmap and lifecycle management of the organizations CRM platform.
  • Ensure the CRM effectively supports fundraising constituent engagement programs reporting and compliance needs.
  • Lead platform governance release management enhancements integrations and vendor relationships.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for CRM configuration security scalability and performance.
  • Balance technical debt user experience and innovation in a complex nonprofit environment.

Data Analytics & Insights

  • Define and execute an enterprise data and analytics strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Oversee development of dashboards reports and analytical products that provide actionable insights for leadership and teams.
  • Enable advanced analytics capabilities such as trend analysis forecasting segmentation and impact measurement (as appropriate).
  • Ensure consistent definitions metrics and KPIs across departments.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks including data standards stewardship and accountability.
  • Ensure data accuracy integrity privacy and compliance with regulatory and donor requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality and usability across systems.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead mentor and grow a high-performing team of CRM administrators developers analysts and data specialists.
  • Clarify roles responsibilities and career paths to support engagement and retention.
  • Foster a collaborative service-oriented culture that balances responsiveness with strategic discipline.

Stakeholder Partnership & Change Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and department heads on CRM and data strategy.
  • Translate business needs into technical and analytical solutions.
  • Lead organizational change related to data adoption CRM process improvements and new capabilities.
  • Promote data literacy and adoption through training communication and enablement.

Financial & Vendor Management

  • Manage budgets related to CRM analytics tools and consulting partners.
  • Evaluate and manage vendors system integrators and third-party tools to maximize value and ROI.

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems Data Analytics Business or a related field.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in CRM management data analytics or enterprise systems leadership.
  • 5 years of people management experience including leading technical and analytical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and scaling a CRM platform (Salesforce or equivalent strongly preferred).
  • Salesforce certifications.
  • Experience in Project/Portfolio Management.
  • Experience in a nonprofit mission-driven or highly matrixed organization preferred.
  • Experience with Moden Data Tools Snowflake dbt Workato Tableau preferred.

Internal equity will be reviewed and considered to determine a final offer. For this position the salary range is $185000 to $200000.

NRDC operates under a hybrid work model. Employees are required to come to the office 8 days per month.
