King County Metro Transits Vehicle Maintenance Division is looking for self-directed candidates who will be involved in multiple facets of the financial operations as the Business and Finance Officer II (BFO II). You must be a self-starter have a passion for using analytics to research business drivers and inform decisions have a mind for understanding the financial aspects of a business and are excited to continually learn and grow. Under general supervision the BFO II will work independently and perform a wide variety of analytical technical and coordinating duties. Successful candidates will be able to bring existing knowledge in accounting and financial management and have skills at working with a variety of stakeholders. This position is ideal for any candidate who is seeking to start or continue on a career path toward becoming a higher-level Business & Finance Officer within the King County organization.
The Vehicle Maintenance Division is a division within Metro Transit comprised of 800 employees. VM services and maintains the entire fleet of Metro buses and ensures that customers expectations for safe dependable clean and environmentally sound vehicles are all met. Maintenance of Metros bus fleet takes place at eight bus bases and at our central Component Supply Center where specialized work is done. Metro has long been an innovator in green vehicle technology and is in a transition phase to battery-electric buses which moves us toward our goal of a zero-emission fleet.
This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) Term Limited Temporary (TLT) / Special Duty Assignment (SDA) position. The TLT/SDA position is anticipated to last up to 18 months in addition this recruitment selection process may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future Term Limited Temporary (TLT) and Special Duty Assignment (SDA) positions that may occur in this classification. The eligibility pool will be retained for up to 12 months from the date of posting and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Position Details: This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not overtime eligible. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule every other Thursday.

Work Schedule Details: Typical work hours are comprised of a 40-hour workweek normally 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
This position will work in a hybrid model with up to three (3) days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary onsite location is King Street Center (201 S. Jackson Seattle Washington 98104) as well the Vehicle Maintenance Administrative Office (9777 Martin Luther King Jr. Way S Seattle WA 98118).
Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
