1. Supervises the Radiological Department in their daily activities. Determines work priorities reviews work and evaluates performance.
2. Approves employee leave requests ensuring adequate staffing levels.
3. Provides instruction and training to technicians. Plans organizes directs and controls the duty assignments of Radiological staff. Reviews quality of work of other technologists.
4. Confers with contract Radiologist Medical Director and other Radiological Technicians concerning the functioning of the radiological unit identifying problem areas improving efficiency and cost effectiveness while developing solutions where necessary.
5. Supervises the recording and storage of all radiographs and reports.
6. Requisitions all supplies for the department assures that inventory is adequate at all times receives and accounts for the utilization of supplies.
7. Approves and prints radiologists report. Verifies quality and quantity of x-rays produced.
8. Work with adult male inmates of all custody levels minimum medium maximum (death row) and protective custody.
9. Will supervise maximum-security inmates and lower level Radiological Technicians.

Appointment Type: PROBATION or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE

• Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
• An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
• This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment should a permanent position become available the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
