The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Research Assistant II position. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team in support of one of the projects under our center grant. The ideal candidate will have experience in human subjects research qualitative and quantitative data collection and administrative support within a research setting. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of research from participant interaction to regulatory compliance and project administration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Research Assistant will work closely with the Project Leads to accomplish specific project aims. Responsibilities include:
- Conduct participant screening recruitment and consenting in accordance with IRB-approved protocols.
- Facilitate focus groups and support qualitative research activities including transcription coding and data analysis.
- Enter and manage study data in REDCap ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with IRB preparation submission and ongoing reporting.
- Maintain regulatory binders and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Support center administrative tasks such as coordinating contracts processing invoices and supporting pilot studies.
- Collaborate with project staff to ensure smooth project operations and compliance with grant and institutional guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in psychology public health social sciences or related field required.
- Minimum (1-2) years of experience in human subjects research including screening recruitment and obtaining informed consent.
- Minimum (1) year of experience in qualitative research including conducting focus groups transcription and coding.
- Minimum (6) months of experience supporting administrative functions in research projects such as coordinating contracts processing invoices or purchasing.
- At least (6) months experience with IRB submissions regulatory compliance or maintaining regulatory documentation (at least 6 months).
- At least (3) months of prior use of research data management systems such as REDCap Qualtrics or similar; or entry of at least 50 records in a research data management system such as REDCap Qualtrics or similar platform.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in psychology public health social sciences or related field required.
- Background in mental health field preferred.
- At least (6) months of clinical experience working with individuals with serious mental illness (e.g. in outpatient inpatient or community mental health settings).
- At least (6) months of experience conducting clinical interviews psychiatric symptom assessments or neurocognitive testing.
