Lancashire County Council is seeking a passionate and innovative Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic Digital User Experience team. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in modernising our data architecture driving digital transformation and delivering real impact for our communities.

What will you do

Lead the way: Design build and deploy scalable automated ETL/ELT pipelines and data flows that power analytics and business intelligence across the council.
Innovate and optimise: Re-engineer manual data processes automate business intelligence reports and support statutory returns to enable smarter faster decision-making.
Shape the future: Collaborate with the Data Architect and Data Manager to deliver the councils digital data strategy support master data management and create assured data sets.
Mentor and inspire: Share your expertise with colleagues supporting their development and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Engage and influence: Work closely with key stakeholders propose creative solutions and ensure our services are customer-focused and future-ready.

What do you bring

Substantial experience in data engineering including cloud-based platforms (Azure AWS) SQL Python and modern analytics tools.
Proven ability to design and implement end-to-end digital solutions automate data flows and optimise data for BI systems.
Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies and a passion for continuous improvement.
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to present complex ideas in a clear engaging way.
